Our Elderberry Syrup Kit and Recipe!

Elderberry is a powerful plant when it comes to colds and the flu.

https://www.organicrawrootsfarm.com/product-page/elderberry

We grow it on our farm in FL. We pick it and harvest it. We dry it there on the land. Our kits contain everything you need to make Elderberry syrup. You just add water and raw honey. We've done all the measuring and mixing for you.

This syrup can be taken as a preventative or as aid if you are sick. It’s naturally high in immune-boosting compounds such as antioxidants, vitamin A, B, and C.

Like to have Elderberry syrup on hand beginning in the fall. We take a tablespoon everyday and if we are feeling sick we take two to three tablespoons in a day.

DID YOU KNOW??????

Store-bought elderberry syrups contain necessary preservatives, refined cane sugar, "natural flavoring" and food dye. Which is not really something your body needs when you’re fighting off germs.

This is why I love to make mine. The one I make contains some other goodies such as cinnamon, clove, raw honey, and ginger root which are AMAZING and lets NOT forget RAW HONEY which come from our bees.

Now In our kits we put turmeric which also has so many healthy benefits for your body. (That will be another post soon).

Proven study show it will fight off the flu, help pain in your body.

Help with cancer and diabetes.. Coughing. It has vitamin c.

  • Take one table spoon a day to BOOST your immune system.

  • I grow it on my farm along with Morgina and other medical herbs..

Now what you been waiting for THE RECIPE....

What you need:

Our Elderberry kit

1/3-1/2 cup of raw, local honey (adding more or less to taste)🍯

4 Cups of water

3-4 8oz Mason Jars

1 16oz Mason Jars

How to Make:

STEP 1

Pour your 4 cups of filtered water into a saucepan and add in Our Elderberry KIT. DO NOT ADD HONEY! We had a splash of apple cider vinegar with the MOTHER, it brings out all the purity from the berries. And its great for the body.

STEP 2

Bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, cover with a lid and reduce to a low simmer. Allow to simmer for about 45-60 minutes, or until the liquid has been reduced by half.

STEP 3

Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool a bit until it can be handled.

STEP 4

Strain out the liquid from the berries, giving everything a good mashing to get every last drop out. You don't want any drops going to waste this is gold!!!!

STEP 5

Once the syrup is lukewarm, you can stir in the honey. Some recipes call for 1 cup or even 1 1/2 cups, so you can play around and adjust it to your liking.

The more the honey the longer the shelf life. You can add a few table spoons of Vodka to give you an even longer shelf life. (You can, can the Elderberry syrup to have it in your food storage).

Now I like to add honey to each jar I make. I cover the bottom of each jar then pour elderberry syrup in each jar.

STEP 6

Store the syrup in a glass jar in the fridge or freezer. I like to use 8 oz mason jars. This recipe makes enough to fill 3 or 4, so I keep one in the fridge. You can freeze the other jars to this ensures longer shelf life to.

They will can moldy in the fridge if not used within 4-6 weeks.
